Sep 20 2018 A greener and cleaner method for extracting cellulose nanocrystal by ball mill assisted organic aid hydrolysis was developed. Due to the low water solubility organic acids can be easily recovered after hydrolysis reactions through crystallization at a lower or ambient temperature and the obtained CNC showed improved thermal stability.
